BEL Q4 net up 27%

Bharat Electronics Ltd posted a provisional 27 per cent increase in its Q4 profit after tax year on year, netting Rs 357.12 crore (Rs 280.91 crore) for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. Gross Q4 sales increased 12.5 per cent, from Rs 1,773.32 crore (Rs 1,575.65 crore). Profit before tax for the last quarter was Rs 515 crore (Rs 404.85 crore) with a tax provision of Rs 159.88 crore. The defence electronics major has already reported an unaudited 2006-07 sales of Rs 3,960.38 crore and PAT of Rs 713.86 crore.
