Mumbai April 30 Reliance Communications has reported a standalone net profit of Rs 686 crore for the fourth quarter of the last fiscal, several-fold higher than the net profit of Rs 15.2 crore reported in the corresponding year-ago quarter. "During the year, each of our businesses recorded strong revenue growth and expanded their margins, deriving leverage from the growing scale of operations," said Mr Anil Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Communications, at a press conference here on Monday. Net sales rose to Rs 3,140 crore from Rs 62 crore a year ago, while operating profit amounted to Rs 1,200 crore (Rs 42 crore). On a consolidated basis, the company's quarterly net profit more than doubled to Rs 1,024 crore. Revenues, at Rs 3,937 crore, were up 33 per cent, while EBITDA rose 57 per cent. EBITDA margins rose to 41.5 per cent from 35 per cent a year earlier. For the year as a whole, the company's consolidated profit was more than six times higher, at Rs 3,163 crore, up from Rs 444 crore in the previous fiscal. Revenues rose 34 per cent to Rs 14,468 crore. The company's EBITDA climbed 126 per cent to Rs 5,720 crore, while EBITDA margin for the year expanded to 40 per cent, from 24 per cent a year ago. There was continued profitability across personal (mobile) global and enterprise businesses, as the total customer base at the end of the fiscal crossed the 30-million mark. Annual revenues of the wireless business increased by 46 per cent to Rs 10,728 crore, while EBITDA margin expanded to 37 per cent (31 per cent). EBITDA of the global business increased by 98 per cent during the fiscal and EBITDA margins rose to 24 per cent from 12 per cent. The broadband business grew 123 per cent in revenues while EBITDA margin tripled to 45 per cent. The board has recommended a 10 per cent dividend. On Monday, the company's shares gained 3.68 per cent to close at Rs 477.1 on the BSE.
