Protiviti hiring more in India

K.R. Srivats

New Delhi May 1 Protiviti Consulting, a risk consulting and internal audit services provider, plans to ramp up its headcount in the country to about 250-350 professionals over the next two-to-three years.

Currently, Protiviti Consulting has offices in Delhi and Mumbai, and about 70 professionals are on its rolls for the Indian operations.

"Our main strategy is to emerge as a strong player in risk consulting in the Indian market and service this market. We are also looking to service clients abroad from India," Mr Mritunjay Rai Kapur, Managing Director, Protiviti Consulting told Business Line here.

`Not overcrowded'

Stating that the Indian risk consulting market was not "overcrowded", Mr Kapur said that the Indian market was big and offered opportunities for every player.

Protiviti Consulting, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of US-based Protiviti Inc, commenced operations here in October 2006. As part of its expansion plan, the risk-consulting firm intends to open an office in Bangalore in the next three months.

"We already have a number of our global clients working for technology companies in Bangalore. There are also many IT-enabled services (ITES) companies in Bangalore that we can service," Mr Kapur said.

The main revenue streams for Protiviti Consulting in India come from services to private equity firms, risk consulting and internal audit services. "We don't expect the private equity flow to taper."
