MMTC logs highest ever turnover

MMTC has achieved its highest turnover during 2006-07 at Rs 23,205 crore, which includes best ever exports of Rs 3,428 crore, an all-time high imports of Rs 18,443 crore and domestic trade of Rs 1,334 crore. While unveiling the financial results for 2006-07, the MMTC Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Sanjiv Batra, attributed the Corporation's sound performance to the success of strategic initiatives taken by the company, reflecting the value creation through effective combination of goods, services and investment. He said during the period under review, MMTC posted net profit after tax at Rs 125.90 crore, which is the highest ever-net profit generated by the company since its inception in 1963.

The company's net worth rose to a level of over Rs 940 crore, with zero long-term debt.
