Cookie Man supporting CRY initiative on education

Our Bureau

Chennai May 2 Cookie Man, a brand of Australian Foods India Pvt Ltd, has joined hands with CRY (Child Rights and You), to launch an initiative aimed at spreading awareness on the `Right to Education' for all children in India.

Packaging solutions

Marking the partnership, Cookie Man launched a special range of packaging solutions, featuring artwork created by children. Cookie Man will contribute 15 per cent from the sale of cookies packaged in these boxes (developed with inputs from CRY), to CRY's programmes across the country.

The company plans to promote these packages as a `corporate gifting solution' too. Awareness campaign

That apart, Cookie Man will also support CRY's efforts through an awareness campaign on the theme Right to Education.

This will include in-store branding across cities "to drive understanding of the issues at hand and to stimulate our customers to take positive action", said Mr Pattabhi Rama Rao, President, Australian Foods India Pvt Ltd.

Commenting on the partnership, Ms Ruchi Mathur, General Manager, CRY, said it is a good platform for the organisation to take the message of child rights out to more people.

Indo-Australian venture

Australian Foods India is an Indo-Australian joint venture in which the Australian parent has a 30 per cent stake.

Of the remaining 70 per cent, while the London-based private equity investor Paracor has a majority stake, Mr Rao and his family have the rest.
