While appreciating the Government's action, in revoking unauthorised deck beds and umbrellas illegally put on the beaches, in order to provide free movement to citizens, a Division Bench of Mr Justice S.A. Bobde and Mr Justice N.A. Britto have asked the Goa Government to take appropriate action against those putting up dining tables on the beaches.
The court said that further directions would be given on June 11.
Court order
It may be recalled that the High Court had, last week, directed the State Government to remove all deck beds and umbrellas illegally put up on the beaches and to submit a compliance report within a week.
The State Advocate-General, Mr Subodh Kanthak, filed an affidavit stating that there has been substantial compliance with the order dated April 25.
The AG further said that they would continue to take action till the order of the Court is complied with.
Britto Amusement Private Ltd, a Dona Paula-based tourism company, had filed a petition in the High Court challenging the Government's decision to grant permission to a local hospitality group to put up beach umbrellas.
