Thiruvananthapuram May 3 The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has disbursed Rs 310 crore in Kerala in 2006-07. The corporation's cumulative disbursement in the State reached Rs 1,250 crore, according to Mr B.R. Nair, Regional Director, NCDC.

The corporation has so far provided Rs 77.06 crore for strengthening the share capital base and for meeting the margin money requirements of the marketing cooperatives alone in the State.

These included the Kerala State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd (Marketfed), Kerala State Cooperative Rubber Marketing Federation Ltd (Rubbermark), Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Ltd (Campco), and Regional Agro Industrial Development Cooperative of Kerala Ltd (Raidco).

In the agro-processing sector, NCDC has so far disbursed a total of over Rs 156 crore and the beneficiaries included Rubco, the Kerala State Cooperative Coir Marketing Federation (Coirfed), Rubbermark and Raidco.

A slew of rubber-based coir mattress units, pineapple processing units, cycle tyre units, crumb rubber units, centrifuged latex units and wheat processing units were set up in the State with the assistance of NCDC.
