India-Bangla cricket series on Raj TV

Chennai May 7 Raj Television Network has announced that it will bring to its viewers India-Bangladesh Cricket series live on both its regional free-to-air channels, Raj TV and Vissa TV, with commentaries in Tamil and Telugu respectively.

The company has tied up with Neo Sports to air the live feed of the series.

The telecast will include three one-days and two test matches starting May 10.

The cricket feed would have Neo Sports logo and would provide an advertising opportunity for local advertisers and brands.

Quoting Mr Shashi Kalathil, CEO, Neo Sports Broadcast, a press release from Raj Television said, "Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are two of the largest cable TV markets and, it has always been our strategic intent to cater specifically to this large audience via regional language feeds bringing value to both viewer and advertisers."

According to Mr Ravindran, Director, Raj Television, "As this is the first of its kind sports broadcast initiative, we expect to capture more audience even from rural areas and hope to register unprecedented TRP ratings on the back of our strong presence and penetration."
