PSU general insurance officers to go on strike

Kochi May 7 Officers of the four public sector general insurance companies have decided to go on a national strike on May 18, protesting against the unilateral implementation of the revised promotion policy and the transfer-mobility policy for officers.

The Class I officers of United India Insurance Company, New India Assurance Company, Oriental Insurance and National Insurance have also demanded one more option for pension scheme, restoration of compassionate appointments and release of pending non-core benefits, Mr P.P. Mohanan, State Vice-President of General Insurance Officers All-India Association, said.

All the officers associations of the PSU general insurance companies have decided to go on agitation protesting against the indifferent attitude of the General Insurers Public Sector Associations, which is the management body of these insurance companies.
