Outlook LG Electronics upbeat on audio products sales Our Bureau
Bangalore May 8 LG Electronics expects revenues of around Rs 450 crore from the sale of its audio products in the domestic market during the current calendar year. "Our performance during the first four months indicates that we should be on target to achieve Rs 450 crore this year," Mr M.B Shin, Managing Director, LG Electronics India, told newspersons on Tuesday. This represents a 70 per cent value growth in the segment for LG even though the industry itself is growing at lower than 10 per cent, he said. The company's total revenues during 2007 are expected to increase over 14 per cent to Rs 9,500 crore. Mr Shin said the company expects its share in the DVD market to reach 30 per cent from the current 26 per cent.
New products launched
Meanwhile, LG has launched its latest DVD, Super Multi Blue player, which is a dual format high definition disc player. It has also launched a range of MP3 players and car audio players. While the MP3 and MP4 players are priced between Rs 3,000 and Rs 12,000, the car audio systems are priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 60,000.
