Larsen & Toubro Ltd has bagged a Rs 215 crore order from the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority. The order is for supply and installation of 33 kV power cables and fibre optic cables for inter-connections between substations.

According to the contract, L&T will supply and install the cables as per the specification of international consultant, Lahmeyer International Gmbh. The underground cabling contract includes design, manufacture, supply, installation as well as testing and commissioning of the cables, including associated civil works, covering 11 substations in the eastern region of Abu Dhabi for the reinforcement of power distribution network. The contract will be executed within 18 months.
