Human Resources NCCL sets up skill training unit Our Bureau
AP order The company has bagged a major order from the Andhra Pradesh Irrigation & Command Area Development Department worth Rs 128.93 crore for the investigation, design and execution of widening of the SRBC main canal and construction of additional structures during the current year.
Hyderabad May 8 Nagarjuna Construction Company Ltd (NCCL) has set up a separate training division for skill and competency building. The Hyderabad-based company has roped in Mr C.T. Chari, former Director-General of the National Academy of Construction to head the division. To meet the growing number of orders and improve quality of construction and its final products, the company has also set up an engineering design and technology department. The in-house design department consists of qualified and experienced engineers with national and international experience in building codes and standards. It would also equip itself with expertise necessary to be globally competitive in design and technology terms, according to sources. The company has bagged a major order from the Andhra Pradesh Irrigation & Command Area Development Department worth Rs 128.93 crore for the investigation, design and execution of widening of the SRBC main canal and construction of additional structures during the current year. The company's focus on urban infrastructure projects has also started progressing, with its subsidiary, NCC Urban Infrastructure Ltd, all set to deliver 12.8 million sq ft of built-up area spread over 288 acres within three years. The company has acquired land in and around Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Gurgoan, Hyderabad, Kakinada, Lucknow, Raipur and Visakhapatnam for its real estate projects. Globally, it has bagged a Rs 720-crore order from Oman for a road project in Muscat.
