Hyderabad, May 9

Mr A.K. Raha, Member, Central Board of Excise and Customs, will address a seminar on `Service Tax and Central Excise' on May 25, organised by the Tax Law Research Group and taxindiaonline.com here.

As service tax is growing with about a 100 taxable services and an expected revenue of Rs 50,000 crore, litigation disputes and doubts persist. The seminar would attempt to bridge the gap between the taxpayer and the tax administration. Mr G.V. Suresh, Convener, Tax Law Research Group said Mr S. Dutt Majumdar, Chief Commissioner, Customs (Mumbai); Mr Gautam Bhattacharya, Commissioner - Service Tax (CBEC); and Ms Jasdeep V. Singh, Chief Commissioner, Customs & Central Excise, Hyderabad are expected to participate in the seminar.
