Smart City deal to be signed tomorrow

Thiruvananthapuram May 11 A chartered flight carrying top executives of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (Tecom) will land here tomorrow for signing the long-awaited deal for the Rs 1500-crore Smart City project in Kochi on Sunday.

This will mark the culmination of nearly three years of protracted negotiations between the State Government and the company that has come to be best identified with the Dubai Internet City.

The State Government has received a communication from the Dubai-based company stating that its Executive Chairman, Mr Ahmad Bin Byat, and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Abdul Latif Al Mulla, would reach here on Saturday.
