Seminar on pest management

The Department of Grain Science and Industry, Kansas State University (USA) in association with Assocom India is organising a series of short seminars on pest management in different parts of the country. Called Pest Invasion 2007, the seminar will look at sanitation, food safety and pest management. The programme schedule is: May 29-30 in Chennai; June 7-8 in Pune; and June 15-16 in Hyderabad. The objective of the workshops is to educate pest management service providers and spread awareness about scientific ways of preserving and selling stored products. Participation in the workshop will accelerate mastery of the key areas of food storage and preservation with the objective of maintaining quality, efficiency and profitability, the organisers said. Experts from the US along with an array of speakers from reputed service companies (Pest Control M. Walshe and PCI) will share their expertise and experience. Indian food laws and ways to comply with them to produce safe and wholesome food will be the focus of attention.
