Phoenix Yule commissions facility

Kolkata, May 12

Phoenix Yule has commissioned a 15-metre-long steel cord belt press line at its Kalyani factory at an investment of Rs 28 crore. The project has been successfully completed within a period of eight months, according to a press release issued by the company here. The release states that, with the commissioning of the new facility, the company's steel cord production would be augmented by 150 per cent.

An increase in the demand for steel cord belts had necessitated the investment. The new press is expected to facilitate higher productivity on account of redeployment of manpower, multi-skilling of workers, outsourcing of non-core functions and optimisation of cycle time, according to the release.
