MCX to organise programmes on futures and options

Our Bureau

Hyderabad May 14 Multi Commodity Exchange has joined hands with the Washington-based Institute for Financial Management (IFM) to conduct three programmes on Futures and Options in India.

The two-day programmes would be held in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi after June 1, an MCX press release said.

Besides giving an overview of Futures and Options, the programmes prepare candidates for taking up Series 3 Exam (National Commodities Futures exam) of the National Futures Association.

"This is for the first time that such a programme is being conducted in India. Earlier, participants had to go to Singapore to attend and take up the exam," the press release said.

This exam would be a boon to the participants to upgrade their knowledge and become competitive. The target audience for these programmes would be the professionals working on financial and commodity derivatives in corporate, banks, broking houses, stock and commodity exchanges.

"The course is aimed at providing strong fundamentals on the subject and the prevalent practices in the US derivatives industry. This information and knowledge will be of great help to participants in India, who adopt the best practices from the US for their business operations," the press release added.
