NIIT plans 100 labs for network infrastructure

New Delhi May 16 NIIT Ltd has announced setting up of 100 network infrastructure labs over the next 18-24 months to offer training programmes in networking and infrastructure management technologies. At present, the company has two such centres in Delhi and three in Chennai.

Apart from these it would be setting up 300 centres that would offer modular training programmes. Some of these centres would be owned by NIIT, while others would be through partnerships.

"The curriculum of the network infrastructure labs has been developed in association with companies such as HCL, IBM and HP to create a pool of IT hardware professionals in the areas of infrastructure management and remote infrastructure," said Mr G. Raghavan, President, Global Individual Learning Business. He said that as of now the company had trained 500 professionals and was looking to enrol 10,000 in the first one year.
