Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd, the special purpose vehicle to supervise the project implementation, has come into existence with the Registrar of Companies issuing the certificate of incorporation. The HMR Board has been empowered to take decisions on behalf of the Government to implement the metro rail project. Five consortia in the race have been given the technical bid documents.

The State Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, Mr. S.P. Singh, took charge as the Chairman along with Mr N.V.S. Reddy, Managing Director today.
