`Visvesvaraya Award' for SSI unit

Madurai, May 16

`Presentation of awards to industrial units are not merely to recognise the standards reached by them but also to showcase the committed involvement to social causes that form part of the selection process' said Mr P.C. Duraisamy, Managing Director, Sakthi Masala Group of Companies, Erode, here.

Addressing at the 33rd anniversary celebrations of Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (Maditssia), he said small-scale units have been the backbone of the economy. He presented the `Visvesvaraya Award-2006' instituted by Maditssia in association with the All-India Manufacturers' Organization to Naatchiar Textile Exporters' in Virudhunagar district that carries a cash award Rs 10,000 with a citation.
