Mobile2win to create a WAP site for Cartoon Network

"With the exponential growth of mobile users in India, wireless activity, integrated with television, is an exciting medium for increasing viewership."

New Delhi May 17 Turner International India has expanded its association with wireless value-added services enabler Mobile2win to bring Cartoon Network content to mobile users.

As per the new agreement, Mobile2win will create a WAP site for Cartoon Network and provide support in content distribution across mobile carriers for the network. This includes wallpapers, animations, themes, ring tones and games from some of Cartoon Network's popular shows such as Tom and Jerry, The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and Scooby Doo.

Untapped Market

"The age group between 10 and 20 is soon going to be one of the largest groups consuming content in the years to come. Mobile2win has seen this trend and we therefore are very excited with this partnership. With our multiple distribution points, we hope to open up this untapped market in partnership with Turner," said Mr Rajiv Hiranandani, Co-founder and Country Head, Mobile2win.

The earlier arrangement with Mobile2win covered interactive wireless solutions for popular Turner International India channels, namely CNN, Cartoon Network and POGO.

"With the exponential growth of mobile users in India, wireless activity, integrated with television, is an exciting medium for increasing viewership, viewer interactivity and ensuring that our content is available anytime and anyplace, in an interactive and easy-to-use format, on as many different platforms as possible," said Mr Siddharth Jain, Vice-President, Distribution and Business Operations (India and South Asia), Turner International India.

The Cartoon Network content is available on Hutch, Airtel, BPL and Spice Telecom and the network hopes to announce associations with other operators during the year, said a company statement.
