Matrix Lab's N. Prasad tops list

Mr N. Prasad, Vice-Chairman of Matrix Laboratories, has topped the list of highest income tax payers in Andhra Pradesh by paying Rs 26.40 crore in 2006-07.

In the previous year, he paid Rs 2.70 crore. Mr Prasad netted an income of Rs 570 crore following the big deal between Matrix Laboratories and US-based Mylan Laboratories last year, necessitating him to pay the highest tax.

High net income

Interestingly, the number of people in the State with a net income of Rs 10 lakh and above has gone up to 14,057 in 2006-07 as against 10,450.

City-based information technology company Sierra Atlantic paid a tax of 3 crore and InfoTech Enterprises paid Rs 3.5 crore for the year.
