IDPL revival referred to panel

The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved signing of an agreement of cooperation and mutual assistance on customs matters between India and South Africa.

It also gave its nod for a similar agreement between India and Brazil. Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet meeting, the Information and Broadcasting Minister, Mr Priyaranjan Dasmunsi, said that the Cabinet also approved signing of a bilateral investment promotion and protection agreement with the Government of united Mexican states.

On the issue of revival of IDPL, Mr Dasmunsi said that this has been referred to a Group of Ministers. The Union Cabinet has also given its ex-post facto approval for signing of a protocol between the customs administrations of India and Russian Federation for exchange of information on movement of goods and conveyances between the two countries.
