Our Bureau

Hyderabad May 20 The National Academy of Construction (NAC) has tied up with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) to offer three post-graduate diploma programmes relating to construction technology.

"We have signed an MoU with JNTU for co-operation in offering PG diplomas in highway technology, building technology and facilities management," Mr FCS Peter, Director-General of NAC, told newspersons.

As per the MoU, JNTU would provide academic support in curriculum and examinations, while NAC would take care of infrastructure and teaching.

"The programmes will begin from this academic year and certificates would be awarded by JNTU," he added.

The academy is in the process of expanding its reach.

"We will add 37 centres to our existing 33 centres in the State this year with a target to train over 30,000 in construction trade," Mr Peter said.

Last year, some 8,000 people were trained by the academy.

In addition, NAC has been attracting attention from across the globe, he said.
