JSPL Q4 net rises 35%

New Delhi, May 21

Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) announced on Monday a 34.58 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 202.77 crore for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2006-07, as compared to Rs 150.66 crore for the same quarter in the previous fiscal. Total income during the quarter increased by 57.83 per cent to Rs 1,074.05 crore as against Rs 680.48 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter a year ago. The company declared a final dividend of 240 per cent amounting to Rs 12 per share having a face value of Rs 5 each.

For the full year 2006-07, the company registered a net profit of Rs 702.99 crore as against Rs 572.94 crore in the previous fiscal. Total income increased to Rs 3,548.78 crore during the year as against Rs 2,617.76 crore last year.
