Tea Good demand for CTCs Our Bureau
Kolkata May 21 CTC witnessed better markets in all the three North Indian auction centres last week, according to tea auctioneers J Thomas & Company Pvt Ltd. Prices at Siliguri were firm to dearer with better quality teas appreciating in value. In Kolkata, the prices for Dooars and Cachar leaf teas ruled steady on last levels, while Assam leaf teas were irregularly lower in line with quality. Dust varieties once again ruled firm to dearer following better domestic as well as export inquiries. Offerings at Guwahati auctions witnessed better demand, with prices generally ruling firm on last levels. Darjeeling teas on offer were in good demand. The limited weight of good liquoring whole leaf and brokens sold at last levels. Remainder were easy in line with quality, with plainer sorts and fannings experiencing some withdrawals.
