Alembic full-year net dips 10%

Pharma major Alembic Ltd has reported a 10 per cent slide in its net profit for the last fiscal to touch Rs 70.68 crore, against Rs 78.52 crore in the previous fiscal. The company said its net was hit as it had incurred a non-recurring expense of Rs 17.59 crore, including VRS of Rs. 7.82 crore, during the year. Its revenue was, however, higher by 8 per cent during the fiscal at Rs 721.83 crore, as compared with Rs 665.92 crore in the previous fiscal. In January this year, the company had announced the acquisition of non-oncology domestic formulation business of Dabur Pharma — the financial results of the acquisition will get reflected in its results from the current fiscal.
