Education Bilcare Research Academy to open in June Our Bureau
Pune May 22 Bilcare Research, players in the pharmaceutical packaging, has announced the launch of Bilcare Research Academy in partnership with the US-based Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). This is the first ACRP accredited professional education course in the Asian region. The first campus would be opened on June 14. Talking to presspersons, Mr Santosh Hegde, President, Clinical Research Services, Bilcare Ltd, said under this agreement, Bilcare Research Academy would offer a one-year post graduate diploma accredited by ACRP in clinical trials managements to graduates of pharmacy, life sciences and medicine.
Procedure
The admission procedure would be through online test for 48 seats and the students would also obtain a one-year membership from ACRP. The course fee would be Rs 3 lakh per annum. The first batch is expected to be absorbed by the industry by June 2008. Mr Santosh said this partnership would be extended to other countries in the Asian region and as part of the first phase it would focus on programmes in India and Singapore. An investment of Rs 20 crore has been set aside for the first phase, which would be for a period of one-and-a-half years. Looking at the domestic market, he said the clinical research market in India was Rs 3,000 crore in 2006, and is expected to touch Rs 50,000 crore by 2012.
