NIS Sparta in deal with ITC Wills Lifestyle

New Delhi May 22 Professional courses provider NIS Sparta, part of the Reliance ADA Group, has tied up with ITC Wills Lifestyle to provide training in retail management.

NIS Sparta will run the six-month programme in its centres whereby the students would get joint certification.

"We are currently offering the course in our Delhi and Kolkata centres and plan to take it to all the other centres," said Mr Muralidhar Rao, President and Chief Operating Officer, NIS Sparta.

The retail partner will be engaged in conducting the programme in all the stages including selection of the students.

The students will undergo three months classroom training while for the rest of the duration they would intern with stipend in ITC's retail stores.

"There will in 24 students in each batch. ITC wants to hire all of them," said Mr Rao.

The eligibility for the course would be undergraduates and graduates apart from working executives. The fee would be Rs 20,000.

More centres

NIS Sparta also plans to take up the number of centres to 60 by the end of the year from the present 26. The new centres would also come up in tier-II and -III cities and towns. Out of the 60, about 10 would be company-owned and the rest would be franchisee centres.

"We see an opportunity in these towns as there is a lot of aspiration among people to learn English and work in professional environment," said Mr Rao.

By 2010-11, the company aspires to achieve a turnover Rs 1,000 crore.
