Commenting on the association, Mr Ajit Narain, Managing Director & CEO, ITGI, said, "Indian consumers with growing purchasing power are increasingly taking up travelling as a leisure activity. By teaming up with Assist America, we are ensuring that our policy holders are protected and empowered for their health when travelling in India." Policyholders will be able to activate emergency services such as medical referral and monitoring, emergency medical evacuation, repatriation, companion transport and more, if they become medically compromised while travelling within India more than 150 km from home. The emergency services will be offered without charge-backs, financial caps or exclusions for pre-existing conditions, hazardous activities or geographic locations. ITGI, which has rolled-out the service nationally, claims to be there first and only general insurance company to provide this kind of service in the country.
