Tata Tele handset priced at Rs 999

Tata Teleservices has launched a handset priced at Rs 999, inclusive of all taxes in Tamil Nadu, according to a press release. Called `Samsung Hero Nxt', the phone has features like anti-theft mobile tracker and emergency SOS alert. The anti-theft feature helps track stolen handsets even after the SIM card on the phone has been replaced. The emergency SOS alert feature automatically sends SMS alerts to up to 10 pre-selected numbers, the release said. The company has also come out with starter kits priced at Rs 199, Rs 299 and Rs 499.
