Business creativity workshop in Mumbai

Our Bureau

Chennai May 23 Matrka, a trust dedicated to Carnatic music, and IDEAS-RS, which works in the field of creativity and innovation in business, are conducting Voices Within, a business creativity workshop, on June 1 in Mumbai.

Noted Carnatic music vocalists Ms Bombay Jayashri and Mr T.M. Krishna, along with Mr R. Sridhar, Innovation Coach and Partner, IDEAS-RS, will be involved in this effort. The name of the workshop comes from the book Voices Within, authored by the vocalists along with Ms Mythili Chandrasekhar of the Chennai branch of advertising agency JWT. The book discusses the lives and times of seven stalwarts of Carnatic music.

A press release says the workshop is a study of seven maestros who innovated and succeeded in a highly tradition-bound and conventional form of music. It aims to illustrate how their techniques help break traditional mindsets, a big barrier to progress and growth.

"The workshop shows how to retain core values that matter and innovate without compromise. Most importantly, it shows us how we can confront change, before it overtakes us," the press release adds.
