A taste of mangoes

What is the difference between a Cabinet Minister and a Minister of State? Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath, has just added a new dimension to it. Spotted at the Prime Minister's dinner, journalists expressed surprise that the Minister was in town when his office had put out a release saying he would be in Japan to receive the first consignment of Indian mangoes.

"It's the day after," Kamal Nath added helpfully. When another scribe butted in to say that while Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh had got to taste the mangoes in India when he flagged off the export consignment, the Cabinet Minister was all set to taste them in Tokyo, Kamal Nath smiled and said, "Well, that's the way it is."
