FTV back after ban

New Delhi, May 25

Fashion TV is back on Indian television sets, with the Government waiving six days of its two-month ban. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which had banned the channel on March 29 for airing content that "adversely affected public morality", today revoked the ban allowing the channel to be transmitted in India.

The ban would have otherwise expired on May 30. The six-day reprieve will be added to the penalty in case it violates the cable Act again, the Ministry warned in its statement. FTV.com India Channel has regretted its action and assured that such error will not be repeated, it said.
