6% rise in Bongaigaon Refinery net profit

Kolkata May 25 Bongaigaon Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd has achieved a two per cent increase in turnover at Rs 6,426 crore in 2006-07 (Rs 6,289 crore in 2005-06), a six per cent increase in profit after tax at Rs 185 crore (Rs 175 crore) and a six per cent rise in EPS at Rs 9.26 (Rs 8.75) despite 12 per cent drop in crude throughput at 2.067 million tonnes (2.356 mt).

The drop in crude throughput was due to lower availability of Assam crude, according to company sources.

35% dividend

The board of directors recommended a dividend of Rs 3.5 per share (35 per cent) and the dividend payout will work out to 38 per cent of the profit after tax.
