Malayala Manorama Group of publications has bagged the Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Award for 2004 for its Pala Thulli (many drops) campaign. The campaign took up the cause of water conservation in Kerala and resulted in installation of rain-water harvesting units in hundreds of schools, colleges, industrial units and Government offices in the State, said a press release issued by Malayala Manorama. The award, given by Union Ministry of Environment and Forests, carries a silver trophy, citation and Rs 5 lakh.
