Aurobindo drug gets US FDA nod

Aurobindo Pharma Ltd has announced that the company has got the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) approval for Cefprozil tablets USP 250 mg & 500 mg.

Cefprozil is a second generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is the generic version of the brand "Cefzil" manufactured and sold by Bristol-Myers Squibb Company Pharmaceutical Research Institute. According to an Aurobindo Pharma press release, Cefprozil is mostly used to treat upper, lower respiratory tract infections and skin infections. It enjoys a market of around $80 million in the US.
