Initially, the airline will operate three flights a week in the Abu Dhabi-Thiruvananthapuram sector, said Mr Geert W. Boven, Executive Vice-President, Sales and Services, Etihad Airways. However, from October this year, the airline plans to operate daily flights to Thiruvananthapuram, he added.

From June 2, the airline will launch flights to Kochi as well. It will initially operate four flights a week in the Abu Dhabi-Kochi sector, but will go in for daily flights in the sector from October.

Also on the cards is an increase in the number of flights the airline operates to New Delhi. From Thursday, the airline will start daily flights in the Abu Dhabi-New Delhi sector. Etihad is also looking at launching flights to Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, says a press note issued by the airline.
