Merrill Lynch turns active

Merrill Lynch has lately turned active on the bourses, its attention spanning companies such as United Spirits and Sasken.

In the case of Sasken, Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Espana acquired 67,411 shares, representing roughly 0.4 per cent of the voting rights, and bringing up the shareholding post-acquisition to 5.06 per cent.

As for United Spirits, Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Espana and Merrill Lynch International, acquirer and PAC (persons acting in concert), have bought 2.74 lakh shares, amounting to 0.29 per cent of the company's capital.

After the transaction, Merrill Lynch Capital Markets Espana has 4.97 per cent of the capital base.
