Jessop clocks 11% rise in net

Kolkata May 30 Jessop & Co has reported 11 per cent increase in net profit for 2006-07, to Rs 11.07 crore from Rs. 9.97 crore in the previous year.

Turnover went up by 6.6 per cent to Rs 83.92 crore (Rs 78.67 crore). The company has declared 10 per cent dividend.

According to a release, wagon production grew 153 per cent during the year under review.

The company also made a foray into the non-Railway market. On the foray, Chairman Mr P.K. Ruia said that Jessop has added most of the major steel plants to its list of clients.
