Our Bureau

Mumbai May 31 Wockhardt Ltd has received regulatory approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to market Terbinafine tablets, the generic copy of Novartis's brand Lamisil, in the US.

Terbinafine is used to treat fungal infections such as onychomycosis, a condition that affects the toenails or the fingernails, the company told the BSE.

Wockhardt will now be in a position to launch the drug in the US, shortly after the US patent on Lamisil expires on June 29.
