Our Bureau

New Delhi, June 1

Sona Okegawa Precisions Forgings Ltd has said it would invest Rs 100 crore in the next one year for capacity expansion. This includes Rs 20 crore investment at Farukhnagar plant, Haryana, that has been set up in collaboration with Mitsubishi Materials Corporation and another Rs 80 crore for a facility at Pune. While the Farukhnagar plant will be operational in the coming 10 months, the company expects the Pune facility to begin production by next year. "The new facility is a tool and dye shop where Mitsubishi is sharing the technical know-how with Sona Okegawa. In the next one year, we are looking at taking our forged gears capacity to 20 million units from current level of nine million, for which we will be investing Rs 100 crore,'' said Dr Surinder Kapur, Chairman and Managing Director, Sona Group.
