Nalco bags export award

Kolkata, June 2

National Aluminium Company Ltd (Nalco), India's leading manufacturer-exporter of alumina and aluminium, has bagged the Engineering Export Promotion Council's (EEPC) All India Export Award in the category of "Star Performer for 2005-06". The award was received by Mr C.R. Pradhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Nalco, from the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr Kamal Nath, at a function held in New Delhi last week, says a press release. Nalco products are exported to more than 30 countries. It is the first Indian company to be registered with the London Metal Exchange and has ISO 9000-2001 and ISO14001 certifications for all its units including mines, alumina refinery, aluminium smelter and power plant.
