Shipping Cruising big
Royal Caribbean, a partly Norwegian-owned cruise line, is going ahead with an order for another huge ship from a Finnish shipyard, which is also part of the Norwegian-owned Aker Yards group. The new vessel will be able to carry 5400 passengers. The delivery is set for August 2010. The cost is estimated at $ 1.2 billion. The deal is contingent on completion of a customary financing, according to Marinetalk Newsletter. Royal Caribbean's huge "Freedom of the Seas" made waves when it set off on its maiden voyage in May last year. At that time, the vessel was dubbed the world's largest cruise ship, complete with 15 decks, 1815 cabins and the capacity to carry 4,000 passengers. The new ship will be even bigger than the "Freedom of the Seas". Each new vessel of Royal Caribbean, which has been expanding its fleet for years, seems to be the bigger than the one before it.
