Sharp unveils large sized high definition LCD display

Bangalore June 5 Initiating the first mover's advantage in a technology that it has pioneered, Sharp Business Systems (India) today announced its India launch of the large sized High Definition LCD Information Display.The company hopes to garner 10 per cent of the HD LCD display market by 2010 when it is estimated to grow to Rs 850 crore.

With multiple application capability in corporate, engineering design and medical sciences, Sharp will be offering 46, 52 and 65 inches heavy duty HD LCD Information Display, said Mr Sunil K. Sinha, Chief Executive, Sharp Business Systems (India) Ltd.

Underlining its sharper qualities over Plasma screen for specialised applications, Mr Sinha said Sharp plans to focus specifically on full HD LCD with resolution of 1920x1080 pixels that distinguishes itself from the HD Ready LCD Display with 1280x480 pixels and the Standard Definition Display with far lower resolution. With its stunning picture quality, full HD Display would have a variety of applications, he said.
