SBT hikes term deposit rates

Thiruvananthapuram, June 5

State Bank of Travancore has hiked the interest rates for domestic term deposits and non-resident ordinary (NRO) term deposits for various periods with effect from June 6. The revised rates are as follows: seven days to 14 days (Rs 25 lakh and above) - 4.5 per cent; 15 days and above but up to 45 days - 5 per cent; 46 days and above but up to 90 days - 5.5 per cent; 91 days and above but up to 179 days - 6 per cent; 180 days and above but less than one year (up to Rs 15 lakh) - 8 per cent; 180 days and above but less than one year (Rs 15 lakh and above) - 8.25 per cent; one year and above but less than two years - 9.5 per cent; two years and above but less than three years - 8.75 per cent; three years and above but less than four years - 9 per cent; four years and above but up to five years - 9.5 per cent; and five years and above - 9 per cent. Resident senior citizens will get 0.5 per cent additional interest on deposits of Rs 5,000 and above for periods of one year and above.
