Qatar adding Ahmedabad, Nagpur to route network

Our Bureau

Hyderabad June 6 Qatar Airways will add Nagpur and Ahmedabad to its route network in India in the next few months. Ahmedabad would have daily flights, while Nagpur would be connected by twice-a-week services.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr Naveen Chawla, Regional Manager (India) of Qatar Airlines, said the airline planned to increase the number of flights from 42 to 51 from various Indian cities to Qatar.

At present, it operates daily services to Mumbai, Delhi, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Connecting the US

The airline would launch direct flights from Doha to the US cities of New York and Washington on June 26 and July 19, respectively.

The Doha-Newark Liberty International Airport (a gateway to New York) flight would have a `technical' stopover at Geneva, the airline's second destination in Switzerland after Zurich. The flights, with a frequency of four times a week, would take 17.30 hours to reach the US city. The non-stop flights to Washington would take 14.30 hours.
