FlightRaja raises $5 m from VC co

Online travel firm FlightRaja plans to expand its services beyond airline and has raised an investment of $5 million from the US-based venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates (NEA)-Indo US Ventures for this purpose. Joining the board of directors is Ms Vani Kola, Managing Director, NEA-IndoUS Ventures, who said in a company release, "The travel industry has immense potential to grow in India and Via is quite capable of capturing the market with the rich experience of its founding members. This funding is an important step towards our mission to support new ventures and innovative ideas.'' FlightRaja, founded in 2006, will be renamed `Via'.
