MeritTrac partners with Carnegie Speech

Our Bureau

Bangalore June 6 Skills assessment company MeritTrac Services has partnered with Carnegie Speech, US, to bring speech evaluation technology for recruitment in the BPO industry.

Carnegie Speech Assessment Technology helps classify the quality of the individual's speech and is more a selection tool rather than a rejection tool.

Carnegie Speech Assessment provides micro feedback on parameters such as vowel sounds that helps companies make their training programmes more effective, according to Ms Angela Kennedy, CEO, Carnegie Speech.

Commenting on the tie-up, Mr Mohan Kannegal, Co-founder and Director, MeritTrac Services said, "The technology plugs a key gap in existing tools, i.e., the absence of inputs for training."

MeritTrac has brought out a thought paper on voice evaluation that talks of the benefits to the voice-based BPO players. To familiarise Indian businesses on the new tools and technology, there will be a series of workshops in Delhi, Bangalore and Pune.

Carnegie Speech, US, is a speech assessment and tutoring software company focusing on testing and improving English pronunciation for non-native speakers. It uses speech recognition and pinpointing technology to listen to a user's speech and to pinpoint what was correct and incorrect in the sound, rhythm and pitch of the speech.
