BASF Q4 net falls 36%

BASF India Ltd has reported a 35.69 per cent drop in net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 at Rs 3.67 crore against Rs 4.98 crore for the same quarter the previous year. Net sales for the quarter were, however, up by 10.68 per cent to Rs 160.7 crore (Rs 145.19 crore). Total income also grew to Rs 161.58 crore from Rs 146.62 crore, up by 10.21 per cent.

For the full year 2006-07, net profit was up by 10.31 per cent to Rs 50.09 crore from Rs 45.41 crore a year ago. Net sales went up by 12.59 per cent to Rs 768.53 crore (Rs 682.57 crore) and total income was 12.22 per cent higher at Rs 772.24 crore (Rs 688.1 crore). The company's stock closed at Rs 253.55 on Wednesday on the BSE, down 7.29 per cent over the day.
